One listen to ‘Fairground’ and I was obsessed; I met them and signed them within a couple of weeks and a few months later ‘Fairground’ became their debut single. Initially released in January, it was remixed by Saint Etienne and – when it finally appeared in physical form – went straight to Number One in the Official Charts’ vinyl singles chart.
