Walter Schreifels - An Open Letter To The Scene - 2016
From his tenure in legendary hardcore bands like Gorilla Biscuits and Youth Of Today to his work in the pioneering post-hardcore act Quicksand and cult favorites like Rival Schools, Schreifels has proved himself to be one of the most talented and diverse song- writers of his generation. Over two decades after GB released their landmark album Start Today, Schreifels transcended his hardcore roots and showed another side of his constantly shifting skin with his solo debut An Open Letter To The Scene.
From stripped-down acoustic meditations like the album’s title track to Schreifels’ psy- chedelic-tinged cover of Agnostic Front’s “Society’s Sucker” and an intricately arranged version of his CIV Classic “Don’t Gotta Prove It,” An Open Letter To The Scene is arguably the first project Schreifels has ever recorded that manages to incorporate all of his diverse influences and recontextualize them into a cohesive whole.

At the turn of the 21st Century, sandwiched between two of their most iconic albums – Secret Name and Things We Lost In The Fire – Low released The Exit Papers as part of Temporary Residence Ltd.'s long-running CD subscription series, Travels In Constants. A sparse suite of six mostly instrumental pieces composed for a film that never existed, The Exit Papers still stands as Low's most haunting and experimental work.

Boring Ecstasy is a compilation put together in celebration of four years of Orchid Tapes releases. In the time that we’ve been in operation we’ve gotten to know some of the most vibrant, talented and kind people that we’ve ever had the fortune of being friends with. Aside from becoming label that houses music that we can truly feel proud of having helped to release, Orchid Tapes has turned into a tight-knit group of people that we’re happy to call our family, despite the geography that restricts us from being able to see each other as often as we’d like to.
The album is a collection of home-recorded songs that represents a group of musicians whose creativity is unbridled by any kind of financial or technological barriers. A passionate love for music and the desire to create things true to individual vision remains the overarching aesthetic that we try to harbor with Orchid Tapes, and we hope those ideas come across through the music on this record.

Deerful is Emma Winston. Emma is a singer, keyboardist and producer from London who, after years of playing keyboard with indiepop artists including Darren Hayman and Owl & Mouse, decided to begin making electronic music of her own in 2015. She writes and performs melodic pop on miniature synthesisers about running away, staying in place, brokenness, recovery, and taking up space in the world.
Darren Hayman - Trains - 2016
I was recently asked to write a song about my favourite train, so I chose the Class 108 DMU. Thomas Nicholas, Ida Lattimer-Keller, Aphra and Skyler Villiers provide the train noises. In 2010 I wrote an album about trains called ‘The Permanent Way’ but I ended up using that title elsewhere. In May 2016 I finished off six of them for this record.

maxwell Reinbachs As a HUGE fan of the cure I can whole heatedly say this album gives me everything I could ask for from a tribute. All the musicians involved do a beautiful job of adding their own personality to these loved songs as well as letting what the cure put into these songs shine though.

Thomas has allowed us to share this track as a musical apology for the delay with the Gorgeous Bully / Something Anorak split 7" that was due out in June. Due to extreme delays at the pressing plant, frustratingly we won't have the records until the end of September. This is obviously horrible for us, the bands and of course anyone that pre-ordered. Hopefully these two and a half minutes of fuzzy brilliance will go some way to thanking you for your patience."
