Darksoft is a multi-instrumentalist songwriter and producer who creates dreamy indie rock sounds. Darksoft songs blend dream pop and shoegaze elements, using lush melodic progressions, 80s/90s alternative rock undertones, and deftly executed vocals. Lyrically, he weaves through clichés, platitudes, and aphorisms that explore universal truths and philosophical themes, giving his music an introspective and existential edge. Darksoft is a solo recording project often supported by a full band for live shows.

Darksoft began the new year by dropping a new single “Devil’s In The Details”, the first from his forthcoming seventh album Rationalism, slated for release on February 21st. Now he returns with a second single “After All“, released via Spirit Goth Records. Once again, he serves up an enchanting and dreamy slice of ear candy, filled with crystalline jangly guitars and assertive but gentle percussion. His captivating vocals beautifully express a sad resignation as he croons the lyrics touching on feelings of loss and regret over a romantic relationship’s that ended: “After all we’ve been through, thought that we’d be close. But all is said, said and done. And you’re so far away.” Given its first two tracks, Rationalism promises to be another superb album. Koyal

"They may be self-proclaimed non-musicians and non-producers, but A Heart Of Glass proves that Copywrite display a staggering amount of talent that does not deserve to be contained by such humility. While grounded in indie rock and tackling themes that have been sung about to death, it is the manner in which Copywrite approach that material that makes A Heart Of Glass so interesting. Not afraid to get experimental and lavish with instrumentation (sax and violins), they know not to get bogged down in any unnecessary flab. That being said, A Heart Of Glass is a staggering debut and a grand testament to the pain of youth."

Cold Country - Missing the Muse - 2013

IRC ~ ... Cold Country’s songs, even though his a big city fella, capture a sense of time and place, weave bluesy harmonica with dreamy guitar playing and just the right touch of percussion. We always thought that audio engineers make great musicians, and Cold Country is a good example of that. The second song, “Carried By The Wind,” is also a fitting track on a road trip mixtape although it is a bit more energetic – a song more compatible with exiting the Great Plains and heading into the heart of the Mississippi River delta. There is no traveler from the West heading to the eastern United States that doesn’t cross the Mississippi River in some form or fashion on their journey across the United States...

A subtle lo-fi undertone mixes so wonderfully with the smooth folk harmony on Cold Country's latest outing, Missing the Muse.
