The Aquadolls release the single and video for “Sneaky,” the freshest cut off of their upcoming record, Charmed. Produced by Chris Szczech (The Goo Goo Dolls) in Los Angeles, the new song puts the angst surrounding the uncertainty of a relationship directly under a microscope; this close study fueled by a gritty sound that juxtaposes the heaviness of bands like The Breeders and Veruca Salt, and the hopeful dreaminess of shoegaze bands like Cocteau Twins and The Jesus and Mary Chain – Stream.

Woolen Men - Options EP - 2015
If you skipped over our year end list (which you shouldn’t have), then you might have missed out on the fact that one of my favorite listens was Woolen Men‘s Temporary Monument. Surprisingly, the band are already back with their brand new Options EP. The EP’s title track has the infectious post-punk meets art rock feel, showing that the group aren’t anywhere to slowing things down. Still, some of the tracks have a slower pacing, illustrating that it’ll be hard to pigeonhole the group’s sound going forward. But, one thing’s for sure, they’re always a great listen. ATH

Senpai - Hell In My Head / Mind Honey - 2015
Alex Ketner A friend of mine showed me your stuff, saying it felt "nostalgic." I feel it too. It kind of brought me back to music I'd listen to in early high school. Good times if you're excluding the times that weren't. "Hell In My Head" has a hypnotic guitar riff that stays in yours for days, and interesting lyrics to match. 11/10 would recommend. Favorite track: Hell In My Head.
Jack Ramage This song has been stuck in my head for days, love it. Fuzzy, rocky and catchy - absolute banger. Favorite track: Hell In My Head.
Kevin Hernandez Saw this because Will Yip retweeted them and kinda chuckled because their name is Senpai. Around 6 minutes later I'm short $2 because I like this so much.
Aj LaGambina Big Pity Sex fan, so anything even remotely related to that band instantly gains my interest. Can't wait to see where they take this. Favorite track: Hell In My Head.

Transistors - Cuppa Jarra Brossa - 2015
After building hype with the release of their catchy-as-heck single 'Confidence Man' last month, Christchurch trio Transistors have dropped their highly-anticipated EP Cuppa Jarra Brossa. The blustering five-song record was laid down on four-track tape in an isolated bach in Manuka Bay, North Canterbury with engineering and mixing duties tackled by good friend Joe Sampson. Stream Cuppa Jarra Brossa below now, and then head over to the Transistors' Bandcamp page to pick up the whole thing for free… UTR

The Lonely Parade - Rolling Dog Show 2008 Split - 2015
The trio set up in our backyard to perform for our Exclaim! TV cameras. The set begins with a lighthearted introduction before they launch into "Girl," when it becomes immediately clear why the Lonely Parade have been compared to the likes of Bikini Kill, Patti Smith and Mudhoney. Like these acts, Veno's authoritative voice leads the song through sharp twists, while Dempsey and Climenhage are hot on her heels with the rhythm. exclaim!

Car Seat Headrest - Nervous Young Man - 2013
Copezone: This record is refreshing from start to finish. I like the throw back fuzz and feel of the vocals. It's like discovering a gem that got packed away in a garage somewhere. I hear some good old Leonard Cohen in the vocals and lyrics, with some Lou Reed despair and attitude! The band gives lyrical nods to the likes of Neil Young and the Chambers Brothers. Instant fan!
xingbee: There are artists you love, and there are artists that "amaze" you. Car Seat Headrest falls into that second category. Everything this guy writes is genius and impresses me beyond words. Somewhat reminiscent of The Velvet Underground, but completely unique. A gem, really. Do I tell everyone I know about this artist or savor it like some secret treasure (eh that's selfish)? Oh and the outtakes album? It's *even better* than Nervous Young Man. Thank you Will Toledo, you are truly talented!
