Montreal-based, Newfoundland-raised musician Aaron Powell’s new album Hollowbody, his seventh album as Fog Lake, represents a step up in Powell’s songwriting acumen, with its ten songs weaving travelogue-style lyricism, diaristic accounts of people and characters and a handle on pop songwriting that feels both new and distinctly Fog Lake. The album was co-produced, mixed and mastered by longtime collaborator Warren Hildebrand of Foxes in Fiction who helped push the record to an even more refined and crystalline sonic territory.
