Tom Woodward - music for clowns - 2016
Resolutely heralding seemingly sporadic artists such as Bernard Parmegiani, Bill Callahan and John Fahey as stylistic icons, Woodward worked the album in between epic busking shifts across the east coast of Australia. Various tracks were recorded on a zoom h1 mic in parks, abandoned buses and urban alleyways. This improvised working style makes for a collection of resourcefully produced songs crafted out of the vagaries of his vagabond life - engines make melodies, pots and pans provide grooves. On songs such as the Beatles-esque opener, Sad Nonsense, a choir of his own hastily recorded vocal harmonies in a public disabled bathroom provides a triumphant melancholia. An unrelenting loner and stylistic enigma, Woodward proves with this latest - his ninth full length album - that his unapologetically prolific output is taking him further toward a weird and phantasmagorical frontier of his own devising.

Project Múkk - A Sigur Rós tribute - 2015
About a year ago, we formed this tribute project by Israeli musicians to honor the Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Rós, and their 20-year legacy of inspiring music. This endeavor, which later received the name "Project Múkk", is also a tool for the Israeli fan community to leverage the idea of a first Sigur Rós concert in Israel. To this end, we asked indie Israeli artists, inspired by the band in their musical career, to join us in this exciting project. All songs in this album are sung in the same language as the source (Icelandic / Hopelandic or just instrumental). All staff behind this project, artists, producers and designers alike, were fueled solely with the passion for music and a feeling of gratitude to Sigur Rós.

Give Back To The Future - 2015
As it has been 30 years since the 1985 Back to the Future movie came out, we have all learned various lessons in life. A time will come when we will have to look back at what has happened since ______ , and it isn't about what we will have in the future (such as fax machines, hoverboards, and AK-47's from Libyan Rebels) but what we will "give back" to our world to provide a better future. For now, Kosha Dillz has come up with a song that every geek needs in their future, or at least for today…

My Cruel Goro EP - 2015
Pleased to present you the debut EP from My Cruel Goro (Italy-Iceland), who makes what British producer Marc Joy (Mike Peters, Bernard Butler, Lights That Change, Golden Fable) calls "immediate and in-yer face Italian neo-punk, somewhere between Ned's Atomic Dustbin, Early Dinosaur Jr. and the Fratellis", while The Sound of Confusion reference The Clash, The Stranglers, The Jam, Ash, Arctic Monkeys and Weezer.

Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats - S.O.B. EP - 2015
Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats will release their self-titled debut on Stax Records August 21. It’s fitting that the album will bear the iconic logo of the legendary Memphis label with its vintage soul and R&B DNA.
Those who heralded Rateliff’s 2010 solo folk effort, In Memory Loss, are in for an initial shock. Delve beneath the surface of this new album to find Rateliff exposing harsh truths about the life he’s lived, the people he’s hurt and the despair he’s struggled with. Additional layers of expressiveness provided by The Night Sweats bring a new soulful sound and intensity to these songs. Of the record, Rateliff explains, “I try to be lighthearted because, although the songs are heavy, I want it to be a release for people. I mean things are hard. But I can remember dancing around to some song that was breakin’ my heart, dancin’ with tears in my eyes. I love that feeling, and I wanna share it with people, and hopefully they’ll feel it too.”
Rateliff & The Night Sweats already had the arrangements of the new songs down cold, having work-shopped them on the road. When it came time to record, Rateliff chose producer Richard Swift, known primarily for his work with The Shins, Foxygen and as touring musician for The Black Keys. Swift, whose specialty is capturing the intensity of live performances, honed the sound, allowing the studio itself to serve as an integral sonic component.

Oh Geronimo "The Flood" | "Waves (The Flood Pt. 2) - 2015
Not too long ago, my basement bedroom flooded as a result of heavy rainfall and snowmelt. This happened twice during the transitional turmoil between Ontario's sombre winter and damp spring. It had a much more tragic and lasting effect than I anticipated, since many sentimental items were slowly destroyed by mould. We wrote these songs about it.

The Bandicoots - "No Turn On Red" - 2014
"No Turn On Red" is the second single of our upcoming EP, "This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things".
The video for the song was filmed & edited by the band in true DIY fashion… but really, we think Nicolai just wanted an excuse to throw on a wig. The video is 3 minutes of channel surfing; making pit stops on some of the most ridiculous commercials, t.v. shows, and movies from the 50's, 60's and 70's (Including our twist on Happy Days, Monty Python, and A Hard Days Night).
The EP was produced by Michael Keire (The Dirty Nil, Wildlife), and mastered by Brian Lucey (The Black Keys, Arctic Monkeys).
Hamilton, ON-based indie rock brigade the Bandicoots pay homage to the rules of the road on their track "No Turn on Red," and now the band have green-lighted some accompanying visuals for the tune. You can get the first look at the new video right here on Exclaim.ca.
The Arctic Monkeys-esque number gets paired with shots that show the band goofing off and spoofing cheesy commercials, movies and old TV favourites from the '50s, '60s and '70s. Watch for references to Happy Days, Monty Python and A Hard Day's Night.
The clip was filmed and edited by the guys in the band, and as for the inspiration? "Really, we think Nicolai just wanted an excuse to throw on a wig," reads the press release.
"No Turn on Red" is slated to appear on the group's upcoming EP, which was produced by Michael Keire (the Dirty Nil, Wildlife) and mastered by Brian Lucey (the Black Keys, Arctic Monkeys). Until more details of the EP's release emerge, kick back and enjoy the channel surfing vibe of the new video. Exclaim!
