This e.p is the result of a concerted effort to plunge a not insignificant blockage in the creative u-bend of my brain. The songs were a struggle to come to terms with which made the process a pretty arduous one but I hope you enjoy it.

Bellows - Fist & Palm - 2016
"Fist & Palm", the third full-length album by Bellows, documents the dissolving of a friendship. The album's narrative trajectory is an anti-narrative, beginning and ending in the same place: in the backyard of a shared house, on the night of a petty argument. The circularity of the album's timeline underlines an overarching theme of the record -- the realization that when the satisfaction of a real resolution is denied, beauty and meaning can be found only in its pursuit. As I pursue happiness and the discovery of beauty, I find that satisfaction exists for me only in a perpetual sense of 'going', of always moving forward, and accepting that although some goals can never be achieved, and some failures are guaranteed, there is "beauty in the certainty of never reaching what I'm after."

My 2015 - Adult Mom - Momentary Lapse of Happily
Adult Mom’s debut LP begins with a song called "Be Your Own 3am", a title that obliquely recalls Xiu Xiu’s 2006 song "Hello from Eau Claire". On that track, Caralee McElroy made a rare vocal appearance to sing, "I can weep through my own midnights" and "I know it’s stupid to dream/ That you might think of me as a man." Like Xiu Xiu in their softer, more reflective moments, Adult Mom, the Purchase, N.Y. guitar rock project helmed by songwriter Steph Knipe, scrawls gentle notes to self all over their music. Momentary Lapse of Happily externalizes many of the same queer anxieties that manifest in Xiu Xiu’s work, but in a lighter, warmer cadence more reminiscent of Knipe’s contemporaries in Eskimeaux, Girlpool, or Elvis Depressedly.
Adult Mom performs Survival on the steps of Saint-Enfant-JĂ©sus du Mile End church in Montreal.

Dubb Nubb songs are sweet and mean, and the stories paint a colorful map inspired by highways and cities, nature and concrete, love and loss. Delia and Hannah sing the kind of harmonies that only twins can make over classical inspired guitar, ukulele, and poetic yet fierce songwriting.
From St. Louis Missouri, the 23 year-old sisters have been playing music in their own scene and beyond since they were 15. They have independently released five albums and EPs, including 2013’s ‘Wild Dreamin’ and the recent 2015 release, ‘It’s Weird In This World.’ River Front Times described ‘Wild Dreamin’ as “elliptical songs about travel and roots and friendship that don't tell stories as much as they establish moods.”
