Earlier this year, Shimmy-Disc shared a brand new release entitled Rings of Saturn — a collaborative vinyl series featuring six 7" EPs (@33rpm), packaged in an ornate wooden box. Each record (with cover photography by William Coupon) is a unique "mini-album" collaboration between Kramer and an amazing group of artists: Britta Phillips (Luna, Dean & Britta), Paul Leary (Butthole Surfers), Jad Fair & Danielson, Eerie Wanda, David Grubbs (Gastr del Sol), and Rob Crow (Pinback, etc.).

In continued celebration of the new series, today, Britta Phillips and Kramer share a brand new video to accompany their collaboration, "Dream #3." This new video, created by Kramer (with use of footage from Jean Renoir's The Little Match Girl, 1928), serves as a follow-up to the visuals forKramer's other collaboration tracks, one with Jad Fair & Danielson ("In A Lonely Place"), one with Rob Crow ("Kerosene"), and another with Britta Phillips ("Nocturne”).

Inspired by acts like RY X, Nick Drake, Son Lux, and Sigur Rós, teepee's sound is defined by intoxicating vocal harmonies, with Miroslav's gentle acoustic guitar enhanced by fragile notes from Tereza’s electric guitar. Subtle samples and synthetic embellishments provide a bed for their melancholic, confessional English lyrics - with elements of their sound drawing parallels to the likes of Daughter, Bon Iver, and Aurora.

Mia, an undisputed talent, grew up in Vimmerby (Astrid Lindgren's city), has been on stage since she was 5 years old and her first lyrics came while in elementary school. She always knew that this is what she should do. Create her own music.
Mark is the bassist and producer of the album and he has a long track record behind him. At a very young age he would listen to a song indefinitely, always finding the small details interesting. He often wondered if he was the only one that felt like music spoke to him. Growing up in Australia, he started to get attention in the business and has collaborated alongside great producers like Malcom Burn, Ethan Eubanks, Rick Will, Naomi Radom, Robbie A.J. Moore, IOTA, Alexander Rybak, Nico & Vince++. He has a reputation of being an excellent engineer in the industry. He has also been on several world tours, playing support for Jason Mraz, Kashmir, The Church, The Thorns,Kiymani Marley, Sonic Boom and the list goes on.

Glass Vaults - Bright EP - 2013

Glass Vaults are a band from Wellington, New Zealand led by core members Richard Larsen and Rowan Pierce. The pairs' songs hypnotically migrate between subtle electronics and pulsating percussion that serves as a rich textural veneer to Larsen's haunting yet sentimental vocals.  

franny & zooey - I Love You - single 2014

Franny & Zooey is the name behind Juan Julio Peña and Victoria Linares, two buddies that were introduced at a a punk show in Dominican Republic. Years later, in the sizzling summer of 2012 they decided to make some demos for two weeks straight, giving birth to Bananafish (released on Dufflecoat Records in 2013). 

The band is heavily influenced by 60’s girl groups and 80’s indiepop.

Skytone are a vocal instrumental duo from Ottawa Canada consisting of brothers Rodney and Darius. Their sound is generally considered indie/pop/alternative with Rodney and Darius singing and playing a variety of instruments on their albums. Rodney plays guitar, bass, drums, keyboard and percussion. Darius plays guitar, bass, keyboard, percussion, mandolin, accordion and some drums.

 Skytone incorporates an eclectic range of influences and styles in their music such as Britpop, fuzz pop, reggae, jangle pop, new wave, blue-eyed soul, post punk, garage rock, surf and acoustic folk.
