Logan Lynn • I Feel Alone When I’m With You • 2024

"The song is a middle finger and a farewell to all of the shit that no longer serves me — including the people who have occupied space in my life undeservingly at times.” - Logan Lynn

Dan Rincon • motor rhythm, wooden • 2024

Last month, longtime drummer of legendary psych-rock act OSEES, Dan Rincon announced his debut solo LP, Spotlight City. Due 5/3 via Castle Face Records, and shared the album's first single. Today, Rincon is back with the second single from the upcoming LP, "Motor Rhythm, Wooden," an upbeat, electro-orchestral track.

Rincon shared the following about the track:

"A track devoted to physical modeling synthesis.
Physical modeling is a method of synthesis that employs mathematical models to simulate the physical properties of acoustic instruments.

Electro acoustics collide to keep clinking and clanging, chugging and churning.
Get your motor runnin'...poorly.”

Warmyear • "Eliza" • 2021

Warmyear is the solo project of Sonya Balchandani (bass/keyboards/vocals in The Big Sleep). "I Wear The Memory" is the upshot of jumping on a little spark after a year of getting through it. From all the thinking, watching, reading, listening, and mothering came songs about spies, tricksters, rootlessness, searching, truth, and motherhood. (Some of the inspirations: so much Ursula K. Le Guin, In & Of Itself, The Bureau, The Vanished Birds, When Stars Are Scattered, and a sweet but terrifying lullaby.)

Left Field Messiah • Young Libertine • 2021

“‘Young Libertine’ was an important moment for us because we landed on a new shade of LFM blue, combining early 90s hip hop tones and soul dance melodies splashed with some nice 80s pop moments. This is a song of firsts—rhyming libertine with figurine and x-ray machine with screen—and while our productions have been referred to as “maximalist”, this is one of our more restrained moments.”

“...a beautiful array of synth work … almost like all of the ideas he had stuck in his head during M83 are just being set free out of the cage, and this, I think, is exactly what being abducted by aliens would sound like....” — BBC1 Radio Next Wave with Jack Saunders

Champs are brothers Michael and David Champion, Formed in 2011 their debut album ‘Down Like Gold’ came with great critical acclaim, drawing  praise from the likes of The Guardian, The Independent and Q Magazine. Speaking on the new album the band state:

Advance Base - Same Dream (Version 2) - 2017

You wake from the same dream
where you get fat
& to your shock you give birth
to your old cat
your neighbor’s snoring
hear the parakeet
sit by the window
& stare down at the street
sunrise grey & orange streaks
thirty more weeks

The morning train
the crush & sound
it’s seventeen stops
before you get downtown
your stomach’s queasy
with flashes of heat
but maybe once that belly shows
you’ll get a seat
it roars & it creaks
thirty more weeks

Check rental listings
on your lunch at work
you could have a real house
if you just left New York
a vegetable garden
a white picket fence
closer to mom
& reasonable rents
a happy place for childhood memories
thirty more weeks

Hologram Teen - 2016

Hologram Teen is releasing a 2-track single on 7" vinyl via London's Happy Robots Records. This is the solo electronic motorik disco project of Morgane Lhote, former long-term keyboard player of Stereolab

The Hologram Teen sound, although embracing electronica and pop, does so in a way that is more evocative of a prog rock disco horror soundtrack than the soulless EDM that fills the pop charts. "It's like Fabio Frizzi meets Grandmaster Flash," says Morgane Lhote. Her debut sold-out single 'Post-Apocalypteacakes' was released on London's Deep Distance label and mixed creepy vintage library effects with bouncy dancehall synths and disco beats. Following its release, Pulp's Jarvis Cocker came to be among her many newfound fans.

Cadence Kid - Xtc - 2016 single

Hold on to the light, shadows on the wall.
Dancing in the night, spinning till we fall.
Lost inside a dream, can u hear my call?
Silently we scream "I want to lose I want to lose control"
Close my eyes and I'll drift away beyond the horizon is where will stay.

Your love is like ecstasy ecstasy

This life without u, colored black and white.
Every thing was dull but now I'm not afraid of light.
Close my eyes and I'll drift away beyond the horizon is where will stay.

Your love is like ecstasy ecstasy

Deerful - City Bells - 2015

A festive single, if not an absolute Christmas one.

I used to live and study in Cambridge, the most festive city I've ever been to, but terms were short and celebration started early, and by the time it was really Christmas we'd all travelled home to our families.

The midnight snowball fight in the second verse was probably the happiest night of my life.

Featherfin - The Crimson Spill / Nananarama - 2015

Featherfin is an art and music project from Norway. The music is based on electronics, but has an organic pop-flavoured feel. Melody and harmonies are close to Featherfin's heart. He is inspired by everything from indiepop and noisy pop via folk and 60s pop to synth pop, electronica and modern experimental music. Sometimes his music is sweet, simple and cute, other times dark and complex.

Jeremy Jensen Superb synth-y pop with organic elements, so dense and lush you can get lost in it, and it was all done on an iPad! Amazing.
