The Bishop Boys • Halfway There • 2022
Driving, up-beat, and packed with interweaving melodies, “Halfway There” is the perfect pick-me-up to fight those mid-winter blues. In line with the duo’s catalogue of Canadian folk-rock, this song evokes the warm feelings of laid-back summer nights, and is the perfect sing-along for a road trip.

Patrick Watson • Height of the Feeling • 2022
In Patrick’s words, the new album “is about negotiating a world where you don’t know what’s real anymore”. “I really spent a lot of time reading to improve my lyrics for this record”, he says. “I was very inspired by Jesus' Son by Denis Johnson, The Waves by Virginia Woolf and Fever Dream by Samanta Schweblin. The lyrics are a collection of little thoughts that were pacing in my head. We worked hard on rebuilding the tones of our arrangements and we brought a bigger electronic component to the music” he continues. “With the addition of modular synths, we were able to find a warmer and more touching approach to the electronics, that feel as acoustic as the rest of the instruments and move like liquid. Basically, I went back to school for the last two years to be able to bring something new ha-ha. Andrew Barr from the Barr Brothers joined us on drums for this record, it’s a pleasure to play music with such a great musician”.

Beans on Toast • Humans • 2022
The album featured a host of friends & musicians including the spoken-word artist Dizraeli, acclaimed author Nick Hayes (on banjo), multi-talented gospel singer Sarah Telman (backing vocals, strings), Rosie Bristow of Holy Moly & The Crackers (accordion), Adriano Rossetti-Bonell (saxophone) and Graham Godfrey (drums), alongside contributions throughout from Mystery Jets’ Blaine Harrison and Jack Flanagan. With every fibre made with a little help from his friends, the cover art for the album is by London based painter Georgie Mason; whereas its videos have come courtesy of wildlife photographer and old school-friend: Curt Walsh.
“Survival of the Friendliest’ lifts the soul up and provides a much needed energy boost in difficult times.”
DSCVRD
"the perfect antidote to re-energise us all."

Keegan Powell • In Kincardine • 2022
"In Kincardine" is the third track off my new album, Previous Pain, that comes out May 11th. The album features production by Dylan Frankland (Tallies), Matt Snell (Dua Lipa), Peter Van Helvoort (The Glorious Sons) and drummer Phil Jones (Tom Petty). The title originally derived from a joke as most good things in life do, but ended up feeling like the only one I could imagine.
OMNI OF HALOS • YOU SUCK • 2022
Omni of Halos has teamed up with Lövely Records for the release of their debut EP ”Care Free”. With members from Swedish indie and punk rock bands such as Division of Laura Lee, Bombus, Sparks of Seven, De Lyckliga Kompisarna, Speed of Sound Enterprise, and Firebreather, Omni of Halos delivers an explosion of noisy alternative rock. Topped with the colorful sounds of pedal steel, the band offers a distinctive, vibrant soundscape.
Walter Martin • Hunters in the Snow • 2022
Written during last year's cold, bleak winter in an old 1800s schoolhouse in upstate New York that Martin converted into a studio, The Bear is an unexpectedly warm and inviting collection, one focused on growth and family and the power of human connection. The songs are gentle and engaging, with spacious arrangements often centered around fingerpicked electric guitars and romantic piano flourishes from Oscar-nominated Minari composer Emile Mosseri. Martin's idiosyncratic vocals are similarly amiable, delivered with the loose, casual demeanor of an old friend who's pleased as punch you decided to stop by.

Kurt Vile • Mount Airy Hill (Way Gone) • 2022

The song is the latest unveiled from Vile’s highly-anticipated new album, (watch my moves), which will be released April 15 on Verve Records—his first in partnership with the label (pre-order). Recorded mainly at OKV Central—Vile’s newly created home studio in the Mount Airy neighborhood of Philadelphia—(watch my moves) was self-produced along with help from longtime collaborator Rob Schnapf (Richard Thompson, Elliott Smith). “When Waylon Jennings became an outlaw country artist, he liked to record at Hillbilly Central, which was Tompall Glaser’s studio,” Vile shares. “OKV Central is my version of that in Mount Airy. I’ve come into my own here, and at the same time I’m getting back to my home-recording roots.”

Kate Clover • Heaven Down Here • 2022

"Further cements her rock-star reputation [...] Dizzying and delightfully retro with a present-day pulse, the track blazes forward on Clover’s vocals and guitar."
- Cool Hunting
"As a whole, Cut The Wire produces an outstanding exemplar of the artist’s road to self-discovery, and builds more anticipation than ever for the release of her LP [...] Bleed Your Heart Out promises to be a true testament to the fringe cultures of skating and surfing which surrounded the artist growing up."
- Wonderland
"With an electrifying soundscape that draws influence from the likes of Suicide, Primal Scream and the Gun Club, the cover cuts deeply into Clover’s authentic rock sound, as she makes the well-loved song completely her own."

With Patti Smith and Iggy Pop as her artistic North Stars, Clover mastered three chords and defected to art school, where she learned to play “Chinese Rocks” by Johnny Thunders, and wrote her first song. She cut her teeth playing in various projects but was determined to go solo, seeking independence and total control. In 2019 she parted ways with her former bands and was in search of a new start. In need of self-discovery and an escape from her life in America, she headed to Mexico City to write. A four day trip turned into four months, as Clover decided to stay and record her album. Upon her return to the US she assembled a band and quickly carved out a space for herself in the LA scene. Earning a rep for explosive live shows, Clover spent 2019 hitting the road with Death Valley Girls, Crocodiles, King Dude and SadGirl. After independently releasing her first single last year, Clover’s first offering of 2020 is a new mix of “Channel Zero” by Carlos de la Garza (Cherry Glazerr, Bleached, Paramore, Wolf Alice) ahead of an upcoming EP.
Golden Boots • Lookout! • 2022

Recorded & mixed in their garage studio, Liquid Ranch is a culmination of the lived-in Golden Boots aesthetic: a blending the late 80’s/90’s lo-fi movement and cassette culture with elements of 70’s country. Replete with hooks, rough hewn harmonies, the songs of Liquid Ranch are set loose to lurch and ramble in a unique sonic landscape littered with the absurd & sometimes dark wreckage of the American Psyche.

Bellows • Next of Kin • 2022
There is an immediate and palpable sense of joy that jumps out from Next of Kin, the fifth full-length album from bedroom recording project Bellows. But the record is steeped equally in loss: loss of family, beloved dogs, friendships, romantic love, and most of all loss of selfhood. Backwardly inspired by the wealth of loss, Next of Kin sees songwriter Oliver Kalb discovering a renewed sense of appreciation for life in the face of hardship, freshly emboldened to move through the world with a loosened grip on life: “I’m not its master, I give up the fight, I want no claim”, Kalb writes in “Death of Dog”.
David Holmes feat. Raven Violet • It's Over, If We Run Out Of Love • 2022
Belfast-born David Holmes boasts a formidable CV, with 5 solo albums and 25 soundtracks to his name. His screen work ranges from Steven Soderbergh’s classic Ocean’s Eleven trilogy and Steve McQueen’s critically acclaimed Hunger, to stylish TV drams including London Spy and The Fall.
Julian Wa • Low Wave • 2022
LOW WAVE is a collection of Julian Wa's psychedelic folk meditations. Each track has its own distinctively hazy, other worldly soundscape - perfect for a good set of headphones. LOW WAVE was recorded in a secluded beachside town over the course of about 4 years, with trademark lo-fi DIY recording setup the key to Julian Wa's off-kilter, serene sound.

Heavy Gus • Dinner for Breakfast • 2022
California-based trio Heavy Gus released a new song “Dinner for Breakfast” alongside a fever-dream music video. With The Lumineers’ Stelth Ulvang and Blind Pilot’s Ryan Dobrowski, the track was engineered and mixed by Parker Cason (Margo Price, All Them Witches, Coin) and mastered by Pete Lyman (Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell, Brandi Carlile). The accompanying music video, directed by maven Ben Fee (Band of Horses, The War on Drugs, Modest Mouse), shows singer Dorota Szuta navigating a whimsical dreamscape. In the upside down world of “Dinner for Breakfast,” she sings from a table set for one inside a shoulder-deep river and she traverses a long desert road on a skateboard pulled by mules and bicycles. The track is off their forthcoming debut album Notions, which is out later this year via BMG.
