The Airplanes - 2013-2014
The Airplanes strive for pop perfection, crafting noisy, harmony infused songs—a sound focused on the simplistic strength of the three minute pop song.
Influences: Pavement, Teenage Fanclub, and anything out of the Elephant Six Collective
The Airplanes originally started as the one-man band of Joshua Vest, who wrote and recorded tracks in his Fayetteville, Arkansas home. But soon he realized he needed a band to really fulfill the sound he wanted to achieve, and to perform live. So, last fall, Vest set out and recruited guitarist Andrew Donovan, bassist Joel Paul and drummer Rob Storms.
Vest still writes and records the songs released by The Airplanes, and the sounds produced by the quartet are unique, blending elements of melodic California rock in the spirit of bands like The Byrds and The Beach Boys with a British rock influence from bands like The Smiths and The Stone Roses. In addition to those legendary bands, the band members are also big fans of Pavement and Teenage Fanclub – two more terrific bands to emulate. IRC

Palehound - Kitchen 7" - 2014
The much buzzed about Palehound has returned with a brand new single and an expanded line-up, shifting the solo project to a quartet. The band, Ellen Kempner (vocals/guitar), Thom Lombardi (bass/backing vox), Ben Scherer (guitar/backing vox), and Max Kupperberg (drums) formed during the fall of 2013, expanding on the sound of last year’s Bent Nail EP with stunning dynamics and a heavier tone. Wasting no time, the quartet began playing a whirlwind of tight, jaw-dropping shows throughout the East Coast, quickly establishing Palehound as one of the best up-and-coming bands during the CMJ Music Marathon and throughout Brooklyn’s DIY community. Nearly 50+ shows later, the band will release Kitchen 7" (Holiest b/w Pay No Mind), the first recorded output from the full band, an impressive statement in the evolution of Palehound. EinS Records
Puzzlecuts - Like a Human Being - 2015

This is is Puzzlecuts, a guitar pop/rock project out of Kalamazoo, MI. This is the project of a constantly-songwriting hermit with work from the past 3 years.Written and recorded solo, but will be playing full band shows in the region in the spring and summer months.
The goal was to craft the best pop melodies I could while still keeping it lyrical and wordy.
Top influences include Car Seat Headrest, The Hold Steady, Ben Folds, Say Anything, Elliott Smith, Titus Andronicus.

An older album, but has so much of what's good in music; female vocals, piano, and beauty. Reminds me of a long lost Cat Power album. Very good.

Himalayan Bear - Moonlight and Rain: One - 2015
I've been wanting to post some recordings stemming from ideas that have been hanging around. not sure where it's going but I have two in the works. This is the first, a collection of some covers I've recorded in the past couple years as well as a couple alternate arrangements of tunes. Taughtened Strand is a song that'll be on the forthcoming Himalayan Bear LP No Golden Kingdom.
